Ipad mini difficult reading outdoors

I had a Kindle eBook reader for several years that was great for reading outside, even on the beach. Then I bought my current iPad mini (sold the Kindle) and today was very disappointed to find it very difficult to read outside. I purchased what was supposed to be a State-of-the-Art screen cover (Tech Armor) to reduce glare and make it easier to read but it didn't help. Any suggestions?

Buy a new ereader (I'd say anything but a Kindle)!

As a matter of fact, you're used to an epaper screen, which is the best electronic device to read in sunlight.

The iPad, on the contrary, has a bright backlighted screen, which in direct sunlight is a beatiful mirror.

I own both an iPad Air and a 9;7" ereader, and I knew before purchasing my iPad it's not intended for reading outdoor.

I remember this ad, which resumes the issue.

Why don't I recommand a Kindle? Because you're tied to Amazon. Kindle uses a specific file format which isn't ebook standard. And you never completely own the book you purchase at Amazon's, as was proved when Amazon remotely deleted 1984 from Kindles.
