Question

unable to download imac version 7.0 or higher

The hardrive was replaced on my Imac. Was initially unable to log on or do anything. I reinstalled the CD that came with and was then able to reset passwords and get in. I have downloaded available software multiple times and I am still miss many apps. I reinstalled apps cd as well. Facechat mission control Itunes etc come up saying I need version10. 7.0 or higher. Under About apple it says I have version 10.6.8. I try to download update and i get unable to download to this computer message. Do I need to keep installing updates? Any suggestions?? Thank you

Are you the original owner of the computer?

Did you have Lion (OS X 10.7) installed prior to having the computer serviced?

After you have re-downloaded the Operating System before you can Download Mavericks you have to go up to your Black Apple and do Software Update and then and only then will you be able to download Mavericks.

yes lyssa. I am the original owner. I spoke with the guy that did the repair work and harddrive install. I think this might be an issue with disc permissions verification?? Its all kind of jacked up. 😠

thank you for that suggestion. I have done that. think its a bigger problem. The dude that did the repair is coming out. HOPE HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING???!!!!

This in no way to slam any repair person or company but unless you take your computer to an authorized Apple Store I simply don't trust them and maybe thats just me. There are to many JackWads out there that claim they know there hocky but really don't.

Interesting - which specific updates are you referring to (OS or apps)? As long as you're on 10.6.8 or higher, you can download Mavericks.
