Help, ipod wont charge

okay, i have a 30 gb ipod video, and no matter what i do i cant get the dead/very low battery picture off and connect my ipod. i have left it pluged in for 3 hours so far and still nuthing. any suggestions...

i have the same problem. i had nothing diasplayed in the screen. not at all responding. it is not charging? help me!!! can i try for warranty service

I had this problem too guys. I would leave the charger on all night and it still wouldn't charge. Took it back to the Apple Store (NYC) amd they tested it, found that it wasn't holding a charge, and they gave me a new iPod. So maybe it's a common problem with the 5th gen.
