Q: apple id

My Appleid and password are setup correctly and I can access iTunes from my iPhone and iPad and Apple ID account on the Web but when using iTunes with my MacBook, I continually get a dialbox stating that i need to enter my password.     It does not say that it is incorrect, just that I need to enter it again.   I am on the latest version of IOS and iTunes

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)
