I am helping at the local public library. Some patrons have a first generation iPad and want to borrow books using the Kindle Reader or Over Drive Media Console. Seems the apps are not available for IOS 5.1. Any idea where I can find older apps that they can download?

Here is the general solution. It would work for a person who can use iTunes on a computer using the same Apple ID as the owner of the old device.
One way is to use the Kindle Cloud Reader as per:

Another way is for your patrons to download the latest Kindle app on to their computer. On the iPad it should appear in the App Store under 'Purchased". Once selected it will state that it is incompatible and an older version is available.
