Where can I purchase a version of Final Cut Pro X for use with Mountain Lion. We do not want Mavericks on our sytems for many reasons. So it has to be Mountain Lion. Thank you.
Buy it from a computer running Mavericks, go to the one running Mountain Lion, sign into the Mac App Store with the same Apple ID, open the Purchases tab, and try downloading it from there. If you can't do it through this method, you can't.

The initial purchase must be done on a computer running Mavericks. Once that is done, the Mac App Store will know that you've purchased it, and if a version of it compatible with Mountain Lion is still available, allow it to be downloaded to computers running Mountain Lion.

OK.... now I understand, but its a bit of a gamble. I may try and contact the Mac App Store first and see if FCP 10.0.9 even exists as a download any more. Just to explain my reasons for all this. We have three MacBook Pro laptops circa June 2011 ( Express card port versions) We are in the business of News Gathering and use Sony cameras that record to SxS solid state cards ( Express Cards ) However Sony have not and may not produce a SxS driver for Mavericks which is why we must stay with Mountain Lion.

We use Sony PMW 350's (XDCAM EX ) for all our News work. The workflow that we had was great...... until Apple decided not to release Final Cut X for OS other than Maverick (OS 10.9)
Now we want to make the move from FCP 7 to X... but Sony won't support Maverick systems with drivers for their SxS cards.
I also shoot using Sony XDCAM EX and upgraded my old MBP that has the built in reader for SxS cards to Mavericks and am able to use it. I had to upgrade my Sony SW of course.
Did you get a version of FCP X for 10.8 that works?
