I have an Airport Express that is about 7 years old. My wi-fi drops frequently. I go upstairs, unplug the device, wait a moment, plug it back in and wait for my wi-fi to come back on. I am pretty sick of trooping up and down the stairs. This has happened for years but it is getting more frequent. There is nothing wrong with my phone jack and my modem is new. So, do I need a new one or is that a waste of money? Thanks for helping me.
Before replacing the old Express, try performing a "factory default" reset on it. If this doesn't resolve the issue it may be possible that the Express is faulty. You can then decide on replacing it with a newer model of another model provided by a different manufacturer.
