i can not type my code in to redeem my gift card?

I am unable to type in my code to redeem my itunes card

What happens when you try to type in the code, is the field protected, does it not show, and what are you trying to do it on, a computer's iTunes or an iOS device ? If a computer then have you tried closing and re-opening iTunes and/or rebooting your computer ? If an iOS device then have you tried closing the store apps via the device's taskbar and then doing a soft-reset of the device ?
