Iphoto crashes upon importing pictures

I was importing pictures and the iphoto crashed all my events are not showing i have a spinning wheel that is white while iphoto is open. My version of iphoto 11 is 9.4.3. i have the new version of Maverick but when iphoto crasged i did not have newer version.

I have tried restarting as well as command and option key held down while opening iphot to try and rebuild and repair but nothing happens to try and have my photos comes back it only prompts to connect camera or drag photos into iphot etc.

please help

Download iPhoto Library Managerand use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)

This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.

Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

thank you for replying unfourtunaly it did not do anything, could my photos have actually been deleted when iphoto crashed?

I'm curious that you managed to do all that in 6 minutes. Rebuilding a library usually takes a lot longer. Can you explain what you did exatly? Any error messages from Library Manager?

Hi

I had some of my picture that i put on Aperature about a year ago 1400 photos, but on my iphoto i had over 3000 i never put all the photos from iphoto to aperture. so i did like you told me to do but it pulled the photos from apereture i dont want those. i want the ones from iphoto that are lost. when i open i photo it shows the ones freom aperature only that i copied over.
