I have a proxy connection from my work place and a password for it. I saved the password in the keychain. However, the https does not remember the password and keeps on asking me once every couple of minutes for the password. i tried to change the keychain access control from safari to all applications and it some how reverts back to safari after a while and asks me the password every 2 minutes. How do I make the world's most advanced operating system to remember the password? 10.2 never worked with https from behind proxy, 10.3 did, now 10.4 did as well untill 10.4.4, I guess and then this. It is a shame that apple could not fix this proxy-https thing for so long. I also asked this question many times, in safari forums and here, but without any solution. Is there any? Thanks for any suggestions.

I know.. it's really frustrating.
I need to go through an http proxy at work.. and have to use Firefox because. Firefox has its own Proxy settings under Preferences/General/Connection Settings/
It remembers.
I also can't use Mail or .Mac services.. even though I can access the internet (get through the proxy) with Safari (although it's really slow..).
Thanks Sandman for your input. I do not like to use firefox as it shows boxes instead of alpabets for my language web sites (that is telugu). But, yes, it does remember the settings. And yes again, Safari is slow.
Surprising for me though is that Mail does not work for you. It works for me alright behind proxy. I do not have a .mac account, so cannot really comment on it.
cheers
