Is there any way to upgrade my ITouch 2g to IOs 4.3?

I just go an Itouch 2G for my son because it was a really good deal and my daughter has her own ITouch 5G. I cannot, however upgrade the

IOs to 4.3, so in other words, my son cannot play any of the apps on Itunes. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
