Care and maintenance for a Macbook Pro?

I just got a Macbook Pro and I was just wondering what kind of System maintenance and care for the casing of my macbookpro I should do periodically. I have a case (dont remeber brand) on the bottom of my computer, but I didn't feel like I should put the other part of the case on the top of the screen. Is there some sort of app or software that can help me???
