Q: ios 7.0.6 update caused 5S to brick!

Updated ios to 7.0.6 yesterday and after downloading it went black to install and never restarted.  It was plugged in, fully charged.

I have done all the tricks i know, holding home & sleep button forever, over and over again.  charging overnight, connecting to itunes for restore.  the iTunes restore, seems to be a dead end.... not even recognizing the phone. but i restarted the PC and unplugged the phone usb 2x and it detected the phone.  it said the phone was in recovery mode and i followed the steps to restore.  But after downloading the update I got an error message saying that it could not be restored, unknown error occurred (2005).

I made sure my OS on my PC and iTunes was up to date and turned off my firewall. tried again.  This time after uploading and extracting software it tried to connect to iphone for about 3 min and then i got the same message. 

Any other suggestions before I make the trek to the Apple Store?
