When I plug in my headphones into my Macbook Pro I can only hear from one ear. Why? And no its not my headphones, I checked.

Is the plug inserted fully? Do other earphones work properly?

Have you tried other headphones on the Mac? If you have the same results then the jack has failed. Bring it to an Apple Store and see what they can do. If you still have an active AppleCare plan that's great and they should fix it for free. If not there's always Bluetooth.

Audio Devices window
Side Bar
Click the Built-in Output.
Plug in the headphone.
Make sure that CH1 and CH2 volume sliders are matched.
