Q: question on restoring Ipad

Trying to restore my Ipad but get this message: This device isn't eligible for the requested build". Information window suggests updating the hosts file. Mine did not have an gs.apple entry. after adding the line i still could not restore my Ipad.

 

Any suggestions?

    The iPad isn't jailbroken and you aren't trying to downgrade the iOS version on it ?

     

    The line in the hosts file doesn't need to be entered if it's not there, that part of the instructions is to add a '#' to the start of the line if it was in the hosts file i.e. to comment it out.
