Feb 23, 2014 2:48 PM in response to alanbcohenby léonie,Your daughter could publish the shared stream to a website and send you the link: Only the people, who have the link can browse the album.
See this:

The problem is, that sharing a photo stream to linux systems is not yet supported, see:

Feb 23, 2014 3:07 PM in response to léonieby alanbcohen,I appreciate the quick response; my daughter was already aware of the public website option, but would like to keep this little boy's pictures/movies a little more secure than on public site accessable by webcrawlers.
We were looking for a more targeted solution. Would it be possible to setup an auto-email? Or is there a web interface into iCloud that would let me browse her postings as an authorized user?

No, not even I can see my PhotoStream using a web interface, unless the stream has been published as a web page.

Feb 24, 2014 11:55 AM in response to Old Toadby léonie,I am not sure, Old Toad. The caption below the Public Website" button says "Allow anyone to view this Photo Stream on a public website". That suggest, that any web crawler will be able to access the page.
I posted a shared stream here: https://www.icloud.com/photostream/#A1GqkRUiGiX61i
Can you view it without being invited?

That is why I suggested the web page in the first place. But I could not test, if there will be any protection.
The worry is, if web crawlers will be able to find it; Apple is relying on security by obscurity in this case.
