Trying to reinstall Lion OS due to recent security issue. Cannot validate software install - not sure what Apple ID was associated with this

Trying to reinstall Lion OS on MacBook purchased in 2007 due to recent security issue. Followed instructions to wipe hardware and rebuild, but cannot get verification of AppleID used to purchase Lion OS. It came pre installed then (or whatever the OS version was then and we pursued subsequent upgrades). I keep trying to use my current AppleID, but says Lion OS is not associated. We had an appleID then, but it wasn't an e-mail. Don't want to try to reinstall from back-up due to security issue.

MacBook, iOS 7.0.4

In 2007, the operating system was either 10.5 or some version of 10.4. You can't install 10.7 except on a Mac with 10.6.6 already pre-installed, or with an erased system and a USB Flashdrive with 10.7 installer on it.

Apple still sells the 10.6 retail installer disc if you need it.

This disc must look like User uploaded file and can't say Upgrade, Dropin, or OEM on it.

Here's where to buy it from in the US:

If you know your country's two letter code (if other than the US), just substitute the US in the link linke between .com/ and /product for your country's two letter code to purchase it in your country.

Once you have 10.6, upgrade to 10.6.6 free here:

And finally to 10.7 via this link:

10.7.3 will allow you to install the latest Java:
