Can the clock app be made to default to alarm?

When I open the clock app, the current default to the timer is pretty useless to me, whereas I use the alarm at least once a day.

It would be great if I could set the default to be the alarm. If anyone knows a way to do this, please let me know.

If there is no way to set the default, I wonder if more users would prefer alarm as the default - please indicate your preference in any response, Apple may consider user's preference when issuing updates 🙂

The Clock app will open to which ever mode you left it in before. I'm guessing, though, that you're talking about the shortcut in the Control Center. It's a shortcut to the stopwatch/timer function specifically.

Submit your feedback requesting a different shortcut directly to Apple using the appropriate link on the Feedback page:

http://www.apple.com/feedback

In the meantime, you can always use Siri to set an alarm or to even lauch the Clock app.

Thanks for the info. You are right that the shortcut is what I was referring to. I did not realize that the click app DID remember the last setting when accessed from the app icon since I usually access from the shortcut.

As for feedback, thanks for the link. Apple interestingly enough doesn't make it very easy to find from the web site. I'm sure it's there but I couldn't find the link.

Tap the alarm clock. It should default to where you left it.

Glad it helped a little. Yup, there's a reason I have the feedback link saved as a keyboard shortcut!
