Ipod 5 wont turn on!

I've had my Ipod 5 for a year now and my charger recently broke and I opened it from the part that goes inside the ipod and red,white,black,green cables were loose so i just randomly placed them and plugged in my ipod, then my ipod charged for like 5 minutes then stopped, after my battery was red I went to sleep the next morning I checked and it was off and it couldnt turn on even when i holded the power button it didnt show the charge it logo thing PLEASE HELP ME IM DYING INSIDE I WANT TO CRY SO BAD MY PARENTS DONT EVEN KNOW YET IM SCARED PLEASE HELP.!!!!! I bought a charger right now and my sisters ipod does charge but mine doesnt!!! please help meee
