windows 8.1 virtual hard drive message?????

does anyone know what this message box means?


<unused space on the "windows 8.1" virtual machine hard drive has significantly increased. do you want to compress the disk?>


not sure why i am getting the message. should i compress? what will happen if i do compress?

you can compress which will give you a significant amount of space back but when you need your files again you will have to de compress which will slow your system down.
