iPad does not register I have icloud email

Out of the blue when I press the imbedded mail app on the iPad it does not go to my icloud email automatically but brings up a screen offering me the option of six email providers, like icloud, yahoo, gmail etc. When I go to icloud and log in I am informed that the account already exists on my iPad! Surprise surprise! For two years it worked perfectly, till now.


I can get into my icloud account via my laptop though.
