First, did your Mac come with DVDs or not? If not, follow these steps:

1. Hold Command and R keys while your computer is starting to start into OS X Recovery, and open Disk Utility.

2. Select "Macintosh HD" in the sidebar, go to Erase tab and erase the disk.

3. Close Disk Utility and install OS X. It has to be downloaded from the App Store, so this may take some hours.

If your Mac came with DVDs, you have to insert the Mac OS X DVD and hold the C key while your Mac is starting. Also, Disk Utility is in "Utilities" menu. The rest of the steps are the same, except that Mac OS X doesn't have to be downloaded from the App Store
