This isn't an issue exclusive to Windows -- I have a two-month old MacBook Pro Retina 15" that will not sync with my iPhone 4S and haven't been able to find a solution to the problem since around when CLJoyner reported his/her problem. (Upon receiving the Trust This Computer? prompt and attempting to grant permissions to the device, iTunes inexplicably renders a message reading "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. You do not have permission.")
What is being done about this issue?
