Q: Message and reboot - and now it doesn't. Please help!

Hi. This pm I got an error message which told me to me to turn off and reboot. There was no other option (everything else was frozen). So I did. Now when I switch on it tries to boot (I get the grey screen with the apple logo and a bar at the bottom) but then switches itself off before I get to the home page. I am out of warranty and can't afford to get someone to look at it.

I was online and printing and I have tried turning it on without being connected to anything but that hasn't helped.

This is is the server section but what happend was that your comptuer had a problem and then kernel panic'ed.

The system is now trying to repair itself as the directory structure is damaged. Depending on the model and year of your comptuer it will shutdown anywhere from 5-12 min if it cant boot into the OS.

Do you have Filevault 2 enabled ?
