itunes and computer will not recognize ipod

I am trying to connect and sync my ipod nano 7Gen and keep getting this message "An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the iPod, then try again. If the problem persists, uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again." I have done all of theseand also gone through all of the support steps to resolve with nothing.


Does anyone have any suggestions??

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iPod nano being recognized in iTunes. You have taken some really good troubleshooting steps. I found an article with some additional steps you can take for the error message "An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the iPod, then try again."
