My power bank won't charge my iphone

I'll make if brief

•When i plug in my usb charger to the portable charger it charges for a second and thats it

•Not ios problem because my friend isnt on ios7 and its the same for her phone

•not the cable because it works fine

•my samsung user friend has no problem with the portable charger

•Its a sony one if it helps
