itunes 11.1.4 skipping and macbook pro unresponsive

when i lisining to music stord on my mac itunes will skip kinda like it is buffering for a split sec only thing is all my music is on the hdd

and when it dose this my mac becomes unresponsiveand it only dose this when useing the internal speakers when i plug the head phones it it stops doing this and becomes unresponsive agan the pin wheel go's away at that point and this problem dont show back up untell i swich it back to the internal speakers

youtube and online radio of any kind works fine, it is only when i play my music stored on the hdd and it happends with every song

mid 2009 macbook pro, 320gig hdd over 200gigs free, 8 gigs of 1067 mhz ddr3 ram 4 gigs used, 2.53 ghz intel core 2 duo

os 10.9.1 fully updated

hard drive was just replaced

freash install of osx

did the reset of pram and smc
