I just installed 10.9.1 on my imac. Everything is fine, except at the end of the day or whenever, i turn off my mouse. 10-15 minutes later the bluetooth disconnects and screen goes grey with box telling me connection to mouse is lost. i have to log in again each time. Thanks.

Is the green light showing steadily or flickering or not at all?
Why does your profile say 10.4.9 and you say in your post you are on 10.9.1?

When mouse is on, the green light is showing steady.
I've just been through rkaufmann87's suggestion too but unless I missed it, I did not see 'Make the mouse a favourite' which does seem to solve some problems.

Thanks. This brings up a stupid question, but how do you make it a favorite? I went to Preferences>Bluetooth. There's a list of mouses and keyboards. Obviously one of each says they are connected. But I didn't see anything whereby I could declare a favorite. 😟

Go to Systems Prefs > blue tooth > click on 'Cactus's mouse" (which highlights) > click on small gear wheel at bottom of that panel > Show more info comes up > click on make mouse a favourite. Hope I remembered this properly.
Thanks. I saw this before somewhere. The problem is then I do click on my mouse and it is highlighted, I can find no small gear anywhere in the box. I got a total of two keyboards shown and four mouses. But no gear at all. If this is a problem, why do I not have any problems with my wireless keyboard? Thanks
At the point where you have clicked on "Cactus's" mouse (don't know what you actually call it) there is a second, slightly larger panel to the right. The 7th item down says whether your mouse is favourite or not.
Here is the highlighted panel showing the gear wheel. If you don't have that I am afraid I cannot explain.

If you click on the errant mouse and glance to your right, you should see a slightly larger panel as mentioned in my previous post. On it, 7th item down it should say favourite and either yes or no.
If it says no, click on it and see if there is any reaction. Of course, you now have Mavericks, and that may offer different options. I am still on 10.6.8.

Regardless what I do, the box I sent in the last message is all I can get up. Nothing else. No indication at all of anything that will let me do something. Obviously I could click the X but that would only eliminate that particular item. Problem is no doubt in our different versions.😟
This may or maynot make since to you but I simply leave mine on 24/7 and it eliminates the issue that is troubleing you

Thanks Don. I do leave my computer on 24/7...don't put it to sleep. However, the problem seems to be when I leave the computer for a bit (or overnight) and turn my mouse off. I could leave the mouse on 24/7 but I fear I'd have to invest in a battery company.
