Mail problems with 10.1.9

Since downloading 10.9.1, my computer runs at a snail pace. I have also had lots of issues with Apple mail and my gmail account. The company I work for uses gmail to host our work email addresses. Apple mail is very slow to load my inbox, it also duplicates emails when searching (I search for a specific person and it pulls that email up 15 times.) Hardware check was good, file check was good. Genius bar said they are aware of the issues and I just have to wait for a software update.

Curious if anyone else is having some of these issues as well?

The 10.9.2 update released today addresses some Mail and Gmail issues.

Hopefully that will address some or all of your Mail issues.

The speed issues could be hardware or 3rd-party software related. You say you have checked the hardware so exploring the latter seems prudent.

Make sure you have a backup.

Try and SMC Reset.

Please download and run Etrecheck and post back the results.
