How do I move my GoPro pics from iPhone to iPhoto?

Stick with me...I know this is going to start out sounding like it's not an Apple question.

On vacation recently, I purchased a GoPro Hero 3+ Black edition. The camera came bundled with a relatively small capacity Micro SD (8GB), so after some exploratory use of the camera I found the capacity wasn't going to make it through the rest of my trip. Using the GoPro app I had installed on my iPhone 5S, I wirelessly transferred some of the larger files on the camera to my iPhone.

Here's the Apple part: The photos I transferred to the phone were placed in a new album the GoPro app created in the Apple Photos app, appropriately titled "GoPro Album." When I sync my phone, this album does not get included in the sync, so these photos haven't been transferred to iPhoto on my MacPro. When I look in iTunes, this album does not show as a sync option to click to include in syncing.

So, I guess the short version is this: How do I get this new album that was created on the phone to sync with iPhoto on my computer?

Thanks!

Save the photos from the GoPro album to the Camera Roll using the "share" option.

Once the photos are in the Camera Roll, you can connect the phone to a USB port and import them to iPhoto.

Thanks, Leonie, but this doesn't seem to be an option for me. There are 177 photos and 44 videos in the album. When I choose one of the photos in the album my options are as shown on the attached photo. When you say "share" are you referring to AirDrop? If so, it seems that in order to do that I'd have to Drop all 200+ files to my iPad's Camera Roll, then reimport them to my Mac from there. Seems like there should be an easier way, no? One that wouldn't involve me having to use a 3rd device to interact between the original 2?

Thanks again.

Are you browsing the album in iPhoto on your iPhone or in the Photos.app?

In iPhoto it would be easier to share the photos to your Camera Roll: Photos and videos in your Camera Roll can be copied using USB connection or will stream to My Photo Stream.

Save photos to the Camera Roll on your iOS device

  • Tap a photo, album, or event and tap User uploaded file > Camera Roll.
  • Tap Selected, or change the photos you want to save:
    • Select different photos: Tap Choose Photos, tap up to 100 photos, and tap Next.
    • Select a range of photos: Tap Choose Photos, tap Range, tap the first and last photos in the range, and tap Next.
    • Select all the photos in an album or event: Tap All.
  • Tap Done.
  • To use your photo in another app, open the app and select the Camera Roll album.

Or send them to iTUnes as described on this page:

Thanks again, but, again, the options shown in the instructions above and the links don't seem to be available to me. I've reattached the image of the screen I see at a smaller size as the previous version which was apparently too large.

I don't have any of the select a range of photos, etc. options available. If I want to select all the photos I'll have to click each of the 200+ of them. The photo stream options don't help, as it also doesn't reflect albums other than the camera roll.

The photos I'm trying to import reside in the Photos app on my iPhone in an album GoPro created called "GoPro Album." All I'm trying to do is move them from that album to my camera roll, or have iPhoto on my computer sync with that album.

Why oh why, I am having this same problem and still have not figured out how to do this easily. I actually tried to do this on PC by sharing all my GoPro Album Pics (and yes, I did as what you described above, selecting them one by one) to iCloud. When I opened iCloud on my PC, I am able to open the source folder. I can now easily save the files on USB if I want to. The hiccups are, 1. it won't share/save long videos, I assume ones that are longer than 5minutes. It will ask you to trim those videos (I didn't have choice then coz I just want to transfer the **** files) 2. It stopped the process half way thru, so suggest that you share/upload by batches. 3. I tried doing this on my mac and this is where I leave this comment as I don't think I've already explored every possible way.... Oh, Apple, why do you have to complicate all things!!!!
