I have imported a cd and the track names are showing in Chinese characters not in English
I have imported a cd track into iTunes and the title is showing in chinese characters and not in English. Is there a fix for this?

Is the CD Chinese or did it originate in China? If so, that may explain why the data for it has come up in Chinese. Probably, the only solution would be to re-type all the song information in yourself.
That can be done by selecting a song and using right-click/Get Info/Info and then typing into the fields yourself.
I think that small English record company may be the clue!
Perhaps the Gracenote information about the CD was supplied by a fan - a Chinese fan. 😉
Seriously though, Gracenote information can be submitted by anyone believe it or not. I've put some CDs in myself. Sometimes it's the only way a CD gets on to Gracenote. On other ocassions, perhaps someone didn't like previous entries for that CD, so entered their own (in Chinese it seems!).
Unfortunately, one of iTunes' Archilles' heels is that if it finds more than one entry for a CD on Gracenote, it only offers you one option. The cataloging software that I use for my CDs can show me the multiple entires and allow me to choose the entry I want. It's also the method I've used for submitting entries to Gracenote. There are other software programmes for submiting to Gracenote, but some offer less choice of fields for entry, so that is why Gracenote's information can sometimes be a bit Wong Kei! (Wonky - British = liable to break down)
Wong Kei - possibly a joke that you may understand Steve (tt2) as you're in London. News today that London's rudest (most impolite) restaurant is to be re-furbished and re-opened "with friendly service" brings back memories of eating there many times in the 70s and 80s! I was never brave enough stupid enough to ask for a fork!
Sometime Gracenotes comes up with the wrong details... 😉

Thank you it has done the trick. I just hope that the problem does not re-occur on a 24 track CD!
The CD was from a small English record company so it is a mystery.
Many thanks for your help.
Not far from where I work, but I've never visited.
