Q: Gmail stopped retrieving messages after the 10.9.2 update to Maverick

After installing the OS X 10.9.2 update, my GMail no longer retrieves messages.  I deleted & created the account and nothing appears.  I restarted again - nothing.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Update:  I probably had to wait some time for the mail to sync.  Now, I can send an email and see the email in the Sent folder but nothing appears in the Inbox.  I have 2 gmail account with separate logins and I email each from the other.

I may have found the answer from a post by Mark David Smith here.  It's slow but it may be because I had to resync all my mail.

    did you resolve your problem?

i have the same issue with my google apps account.

i made the same, delete and create again my account and works, but for a few hours or 1 day. I made it 2 times.

Is crazy delete and create one time per day....

Now i have the same problem, i can send but receive is not working.

Im using Airmail for this particular email account (Google apps) but i want to use just one!-> APP MAIL

I have another google apps account in APP MAIL and is working properly! its incredible

    Fede N,

Deleting and recreating didn't work.  However, I found another post on Apple's discussions - I noted the link above by Mark David Smith.  You have to go into the Library and rename files.  He explains what he had to do in enough detail that I could follow.  Then I deleted and recreated the account.  That seemed to do the trick for me. It did take about a day for my Google account to finally resolve itself, I think because it had so many files to sync.  I picked up email elsewhere for the day.

    Good luck.

Until Apple fixes their bug, the simplest way is to go to the mailbox menu and take all accounts offline and then back online. Doersn't fix the underlying problem, but when Apple finally pony up and admit their is one and then fix it, this way saves deleting accounts.

Just an FYI: I am going thru same issues with my provider email.  I use XO/Concentric.  Same issues.  The provider must be going under, because beyond the robo-reply, they do not respond.  I will try this fix and hope it works.  Then I have to shop for a real provider.
