Multiple display problem in OSX 10.9.2

I just updated to 10.9.2 on my 15" Macbook Pro (Mid-2010) and after the restart my secondary display will not work. When I plug it in to my mini displayport my secondary display comes up black and my primary display comes back with the background and settings that I had set for my secondary display. It seems as though the OS was confusing my primary display for my secondary. After messing with the settings I was able to get my primary display back to my primary settings, but the secondary display is still showing up black no matter how much I mess with the display settings in the system preferences (changes to resolution, mirroring, ect.). Anyone else experiencing this?

Nearly the same here. I've an external display connected to my private iMac via mini displayport respectively two external thunderbolt displays connected to my iMac for work. Before the update to 10.9.2 everything worked fine, afterwards the screen turns from black to the normal display to black and so on, it's flickering every time I do something, open up an app, repositioning a window from one display to another, switch to fullscreen. This totally *****, as an Developer and UI designer I'm depend on two respectively three displays o.O

My friend just upgraded, and while the second monitor works, (15" Retina macbook Pro and 27" Display (displayport version, not TB version), if selects mirroring, the MacBook display sets to the same resoluiton of the external display, but the external display goes black. Turning mirroring off does not correct it, the only thing he can do is unplug the 2nd display and plug it back in. When he does this it resets the defaults of the displays, so he has to go to arrangement each time.

PITA for someone who teaches a lot, not sure if it is going to be a problem with a projector or related to the display. Something broke ... appears they rushed this update out for the SSL issue without testing enough.

edit: just tried this with the newer Thunderbolt display, same problem.

Update in my case:

I've downgraded my iMacs to 10.9.1 via Recovery and Time Machine, and here's the glue -> EVERYTHING WORKS FINE AGAIN! Just the notification 'bout 10.9.2 is annoying, but there's no chance to disable the notifications for the Mac App Store.

So, here's my advice for you, guys: try to downgrade to Mavericks 10.9.1, manually update Safari to 7.0.2 ('cause of the SSL security bug) and wait with the update of OS X til 10.9.3 xD

My second monitor issue is slightly different, at least mine works but the resolution is wonky (oversized). The monitor is an HP 27xi, not Mac friendly from the start, but before 10.9.2 upgrade worked perfectly after some setup issues. Now the Scaled resolutions are 1080p, 720p and 1600x900, all which produce an image larger than the monitor, to the point of not being able to see the dock or menubar. My connection is HDMI. Same issue when mirrored.

Similar issues here. I usuallly use an external dispaly as secondary display, but updates when secondary was not attached. restart to black screen , couple flashes of an apple icon but nothing.. didnt sleep well. this morning came to office and plugged secondary in, secondary monitor working fine but primary still black. First bootup took a while to get it started I guess since first successful boot after upgrade. Going to try another reboot.
