Mac OS XIf the SMC reset doesn't fix your issue, can you access the resolution you need if you install SwitchResX?
It's "try for ten days" shareware, so you can download and try it to see if it allows your monitor to work the way you expect it to.

May 21, 2014 6:57 AM in response to Wayne Foxby Studio jocool,... maybe i'll try that SMC reset...
- i won't go into reinstalling the System... it's like if it's my fault - i'm angry to Apple because they doen't recognize the problem and don't even mention it officially. I've paid a fortune for their new Macbook Pro Retina and get a machine that doesn't even get a slot for a Lock.
Now that resolution issue is truly a problem and i'm sure i'm not the only one. Are we going to go further and soon one will ask me to change my laptop?
I think, it's my right to have a computer who works correctly at this price and i don't need to feel guilty for something that i don't have any control to it.
i'll wait for an official solution otherwise i'll find myself a workaround - Thank you Apple.

May 21, 2014 7:11 AM in response to Studio jocoolby tbartoncv,You should contact apple support directly. Also, if you haven't updated to 10.9.3 you should. It addresses many video problems.

May 21, 2014 9:24 AM in response to tbartoncvby Studio jocool,This was done as the first Step and i've already answered how Apple neglected to give me a solution and suggested to wait for a Future update if any... I've also, as mentionned, upgraded to 10.9.3 and zapped the PRAM without success... read the full thread.

May 22, 2014 10:42 AM in response to Studio jocoolby tbartoncv,Not reading an entire 8 page thread, sorry. If you have a problem with an Apple computer that is under warranty, demand the service you paid for. If you are not satisfied, ask nicely to have your issue escalated. You can always send an email to Tim Cook *******. It has worked for me. Your frustration is understandable but computers have problems sometimes, even expensive ones.

May 23, 2014 4:46 PM in response to tbartoncvby badubi,I have now updated to 10.9.3 and my problem remains - my iMac is blind to the existence of my projector while the MBP sees it just fine. I am out of ideas.

How about via the HDMI port on the MBP?

Jun 8, 2014 9:42 AM in response to athomas1by WimHein,After installing Mavericks my Phillips TV was not recogniced as it was before.
Thanks to Time Machine I good replace the old settings. This happend in December 2013.
Apple told me that this bug would be fixed but now a half jaer later I discoverd that Mavericks dus not recocnice mij TV as it shoot. The pictures below are showing what going on.
The Mavericks part is from a Mac Book Pro with the latest version of Mavericks.
I think that Apple should be a shamed for not solving this problem. I hope that some one has a solution for this.
I have tride "Display Menu" and it partly workt but I can not get anything on the second TV screen. -
Jun 8, 2014 10:52 AM in response to KeithAntby KeithAnt,Update to my earlier "Thank you, thank you, thank you amaga!" message: While it is true that restoring the older AMD drivers fixed the issue and all three monitors lit up at full resolution. It seems that the old drivers no longer work with some versions of Flash video (I get audio, but the video doesn't play) and at least one application development environment, written in Java, that I use presents a launch window that is completely blank and doesn't have the development menu options it should (so, the window re-draw is not working). Both of these issues disappeared when I restored the current AMD drivers. But, then I lost my third monitor again and only have two (which two changes randomly when I reboot my Mac Pro 2013). Given the situation outlined above, it definitely seems that the drivers are the issue, not my monitors or computer hardware.

Jun 8, 2014 11:03 AM in response to KeithAntby magentawave,Third time mentioning this... Has anyone installed the Display Menu.app yet? It fixed the problem for me thanks to someone mentioning it many pages ago.

Jun 8, 2014 9:57 PM in response to magentawaveby WimHein,Hello magentawave... I have installed the Display Menu.app but it thit not solf the problem completely.
Also is it not possible to share both screens as one workspace.
I cannot understand why a company like Apple cannot solve such a simple problem like this.
In the years I am working with the Imac it is the first time that I am rely disappointed by Aplle.
