Apogee JAM Guitar Input compatibility

Is the Apogee JAM Guitar Input compatible with the Macbook Air? Also, it says "Designed for electric guitar bass, and acoustic guitar works with pickup" -

does it work with a regular electric guitar?

Yes to both. It will work with all Apple products that run iOS or OSX and will input anything with a 1/4" jack.
