"we had difficulty downloading episodes from your feed"

I'm having this common problem with my podcast: "we had difficulty downloading episodes from your feed." my feed is http://www.manualredeye.com/sonderfeed, please help! I've read threads on here to try to find the problem but I can't seem to fix it.

P.S. the host was created by a programmer (not myself) and is located on my school website; not a free rss feed website or anything.

Thank you!

Strangely, your feed contains the correct 'itunes:declaration', 'itunes:summary' and 'itunes:subtitle' tags and an 'itunes:duration' tag correctly formatted for a duration of 8 minutes and 16 seconds. However you have no 'enclosure' tag containing the URL of a playable media file, nor indeed any reference to a playable media file anywhere in the feed.

Within your 'item' tags for your single episode you have a link to http://www.manualredeye.com/sonderepisodes/ep1 which produces a 'File not found' error.

The 'link' tag in the header section (which should contain a link to the overall website for the podcast) contains a link to a Soundcloud page containing an embedded player for your 8m 16s file.

You have to provide a direct link to the file within a properly formatted 'enclosure' tag.

You, or perhaps more to the point your programmer, may find this page on podcasting helpful:

When you have a question please start a new thread - tacking on to an old thread can make things rather confusing.

When checking a submitted feed, the Store checks only the top episode. Though your first two episodes have media files, the latest two episodes do not have 'enclosure' tags containing the URLs of playable media. The 'content:encoded' tag (which iTunes does not read) for the top episode has a link to a YouTube file: you can' use thes in iTunes or the Store, which do not recognize the format. Acceptable formats are .mp3, .m4a, .m4v, .mov or .mp4 file (not Windows Media, RealMedia or Flash).
