How do I remove the Disney and ESPN icons from the first screen IPad

How do I delete the Disney and ESPN icons form the iPad's first screen? They appeared with the downloaded update to the OS, but I would rather not see them

Do you mean in Safari? They are simply bookmarks in teh Favorites section. http://help.apple.com/ipad/7/#/iPadc602b75b

Navigate to the Favorites section of Bookmarks, swipe left, then tap delete.

Tap the bookmark icon next to the search field. Tap favorites, tap edit, tap the minus sign, tap done.
