Q: Does 10.9.2 make Messages and App Store crash?

Just updated from 10.9.1 to 10.9.2

After the initial reboot, I now can't open  Messages or App Store - both result in a full-on crash with a crash report.  Is anyone else having this issue?  Disk check and Permission Repair both come back clear.  Interestingly enough, Permissions Check shows no issues at all, and usually it always has something to show....especially in the way of iTunes.

Thanks!

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Are you suggesting I should restore to a Time Machine backup or am I missing something?

I have the same issues, just posted about it an hour ago.

Besides that, Mail and Safari are also not working for me.

    Try running the combo updater.

    Combo update didn't work.

I also tried recovering from my 10.9.1 Time Machine backup, but it resulted in a crazy corrupted recovery.  My Applications folder didn't restore, and everything in my dock had a question mark instead of an icon.

SO, I decided to recover to a brand new and fresh install from the Recovery Partition - ended up getting 10.9.2 out of the box.  Was working fine until I started installing my usual applications; Filemaker 13 Pro Advanced, AccounteEdge, Daylite, etc.  Now I just noticed that the App Store is crashing on loading.  Messages and Mail seem to be working fine.  This is a huge FAIL so far....not sure what to do at this point.  I'm definitely not upgrading my office until this is sorted.

    So I figured it out.

We have a Cyberoam UTM appliance and there is a small client that runs on each machine to allow for SSL web traffic scanning/anti-virus/anti-spam, etc.  This app definitely doesn't play nice with 10.9.2 and forces anything that uses SSL to perform an epic crash.  Logging out of the app fixes the problem completely.  I called Cyberoam and made them aware of the issue.

I also have a Cyberoam applience. Everything worked fine before 10.9.2. I use the cyberoam SSL CA Certificate installed on each computer instead of the client.

Mail, App Store, Safari, iTunes, and several other apps crash as soon as they are opened. 4 Macs all have the problem.

For now I have created a firewall rule with https scanning disabled for each computer.

No issue before (since 2008) with my setup and no issue with Windows or Linux.

It therefore indicates that OS 10.9.2 is not respecting the installed Cyberoam certificate and is therefore not complient with the industry standards.
