Win 7 64bit - iTunes no error on install but "required component is missing" on startup - then shutdown!

After several attempts to install update and then remove/reinstall problems on Win 7 64bit, I now have reinstalled with no error messages twice. But on startup, I get "required component is missing" and iTunes quits. Any suggestions on finding what component is missing?

Thanks for the attempt. I deleted everything and tried the previous version but still received "A required iTunes component is not installed. Please repair or reinstall iTunes. (-45075)". I did repair and reinstall again but still received the same message.

I have decided to give up. I do have iTunes on a Macbook but will forgo any more attempts to run it on a Windows machine.

Should you get the urge to try fixing iTunes again you could try looking in the Event Viewer to see if there is more information about the error.

You can also try downloading 7-Zip (free), or a free trial of WinRAR, and unpack the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe file into its components then try installing them individually in alphabetical order (don't try to install SetupAdmin.exe or iCloud.msi). You may get a more useful error message as to which component has problems.
