macbook pro 3360*2100 slow down?

So i just got my macbook pro and i love it. Now my question is i love the way the laptop looks at 3360 * 2100 looks so crisp and clear, now would my battery die a lot faster just suffing the web and such? I wont be playing any games just mostly typing papers and just on safari thats really it. So does it make the laptop lag a lot, or does it make it run hotter? Thanks!
