About a month ago i lost my mail icon in the dock.
I replaced it with a shortcut as i did not know how to replace the normal one.
Today, when i opened my mail the icon did not bounce
It says"mail" at the top of the screen but nothing has appeared.
When i go to finder and open mail through there, my mail appears but i cannot view any single email or download new mail
What have I done and how do i fix it????

The original Mail icon is inside the Applications folder.

I have managed to get my email back but now the shortcut icon has disappeared from my dock

I guess I should start to learn a bit about my mac & how it works!!!

Drag the original icon onto the Dock & let go. The original icon will move back to the Application folder. The alias/shortcut icon will be in the Dock.
