10.9.2 update: desktop right-click missing items

Immediately after updating to 10.9.2 i noticed that when i right click on the desktop the menu only displays options New Folder and Get Info, there are empty slots for where other options should be.

I also seem to be missing a couple of options when i right click on a file/folder.
