Hi Melophage,

I think I am facing the same problems. I have recently updated my Macbook Pro to MaC Sierra, and since I have updated I am unable to launch this jar.

Earlier I was able to install the sqljdbc.42 jar on my system so that I can connect to MySQL Database. But since I have updated the OS, I am unable to launch the jar, which work as driver, which is required to connect to MySQL database.

I have followed the steps mentioned above, and here are the snapshots.

I think you should be able to help me with this.

Looking forward to your support

Melophage,

apparantly there is no other way in opening up your java console besides opening a website that has java on it, so I opened up "Danball". The console has no error messages that I am aware of.Maybe there's one you're aware of.User uploaded file

Does the console show anything helpful?

I do not know how to search my internal SSD, if you could teach me how that would be great.

James_Black,

if you open the Java pane of System Preferences, it will open a Java Control Panel window. Click on that window’s Advanced tab; it will show a series of radio buttons. One of them is titled “Java console”; make sure that its “Show console” button is selected.

To search your internal SSD, try using Spotlight by clicking on the magnifying glass icon near the right-hand side of your menu bar. (I have Spotlight disabled on my MacBook Pro, but by default it is installed enabled, so it should be available on your MacBook Pro.)

James_Black,

I did not ask whether you had searched your internal SSD using Spotlight for a file named “Internal hardrive” or “Internal SSD”; I had asked whether you had searched your internal SSD using Spotlight for a file with “1.7.4.jar” in its name.

Regarding the messages with “java” in the OS X Console, try running the following commands inside of Terminal: they will let me compare the two files that are installed on your internal SSD with the same files on mine.

cd '/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin'

cd Contents/Home

ls -l bin/java lib/jli/libjli.dylib

cksum bin/java lib/jli/libjli.dylib

Please include in your reply the full output from the ls and cksum commands.

Melophage,

If I type "ls -l" this is what comes up:

total 0

drwx------+ 6 jamesbaartz staff 204 2 Mar 21:26 Desktop

drwx------+ 8 jamesbaartz staff 272 1 Mar 15:16 Documents

If I type "cksum" instead of the title bar being jamesblack - bash - 80x24, it changes to jamesblack - cksum - 80x24, thats all. and when I close terminalit says it will "terminate the running process: cksum"

Am I doing anything wrong?
