I've just upgraded to OS X 10.9.2 which includes Safari 7.0.2 and I now find that if I use the swipe gesture to move between pages in Safari, the page freezes.
Just done some more checking and it looks to be a problem with all apps, so it's obviously broken something with the Magic Trackpad software.

I've got the same problem (MacBook Pro Late 2016, macOS 10.12.2 and Safari 10.0.3). The page moves a little bit when I try to go back and then it freezes. I discovered the same problem on an older Mid 2015 MacBook Pro (10.11.2 El Capitan) as well. Restart solves the problem but isn't really a long term solution.
A reboot seems to have fixed this 🙂

I have got the same problem: os x 10.9.2 and safari 7.0.2. safari freezes when I do the back-history gesture with the swipe.
Rebooting os x did not solve. Neither permissions rebuilding.

resetting SMC and then later PRAM will solve the problem.
now safari 7.0.2 does not freeze with swipe gestures any more.
