I'm not sure what happened, but after yesterday's software update whenever I click on a banner from a new mail notification, it now opens the new mail in a modal window. That's really annoying. It used to just switch to Mail and highlight the mail in the main Mail window. How do I stop this?
I don't have a solution, but I am having the same problem too. I noticed it after the update.

Same here. Kind of annoying. Especially if I have mulitple mail notifications. It used to be nice to click through them as the banners dissapeared. Would love to have the option to do it that way again.
My solution was to turn off Mail notifications completely.
I'm considering turning notifications back on for VIPs, but then I would need to create VIPs, which is extra work that I don't want to do.
I liked the old way, and I hate the new way.
