my pod will synchronise but then it says no music

my ipod sayd it needed to be restored so i clicked ok. now all the music and videos are gone. for some reason icant seem to download the new itunesverion. and my ipod says no music and that it has to be restored againand then it goes off again so i cant connect it to itunes:(pls help
