Delete App - X not showing

Hello,

I don't have Wi-fi in my phone plan and I was downloading some things (with my home Wi-fi) and then had to leave, losing my Wi-fi and now I have 2 apps that have not completed. They had that darkish tint - now they just appear with that icon to touch to resume download. I've tried clicking them to download but nothing, i try to delete them and nothing (and I have no restrictions in terms of deleting apps) - the X doesn't even show (and I've been able to delete other apps). What can I do?

- and please don't say things like "Reset the system" because that's not really a solution to the problem, or at least not one I would like to take...
