Q: I wanted to know if the storage space you pay for is bought or if it is rented, and if cancel the plan you loss the storage?

I wanted to know if the extra storage space you pay for through icloud is bought or if it is rented, and if cancel at any time do you loss the storage you already paid for?

iPad 2, iOS 7.0.6

    The storage upgrade is an annual subscription.  If you cancel the subscription within 15 days you can get a refund.  After that you would keep the subscription until it expired.

    Since it is a per year cost, I guess you can say it is rented and yes if you cancel you lose the storage.

    You can cancel your subscription by downgrading your storage to the free 5GB plan under Storage Plan in your iCloud Account Information on your device, from your iCloud Account view in System preferences on your Mac, or from your iCloud Account view in the iCloud Control Panel for Windows on your PC. Your paid subscription will be cancelled on your next annual billing date. Partial refunds are available where required by law.
