iTunes starts playing automatically

I just installed the latest update today (2-26-14). Now, my iPhone will start playing a random song in iTunes. This has happened a dozen times. I am not using my phone, it is sitting next to me at work and it just starts playing.

Anyone else seen this? Any settings I can use to turn this off? I will delete my entire iTunes library and use Pandora if this continues. I can't have my phone start playing at work.

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.0.6

Hey GoSC,

Thanks for the question. That definitely sounds frustrating! To troubleshoot this issues, let’s restart/reset your device:

Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430

If your issue persists, let’s backup and restore your device:

Choosing an iOS backup method (Should I use iTunes or iCloud to back up my iOS device?)

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5262

Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

Thanks,

Matt M.

Glad to find this here.

I will try this reset/reload later.

This JUST started - again - a few days ago, RIGHT after I updated my iPhone 5S to 8.1.3. As soon as my phone's connected to my car's radio (Toyota Tacoma) iTunes starts playing. Worse, although I'm already listening to internet radio (iHeartradio, Tunein, The Blaze), iTunes breaks in at random times with whatever song it's picked and it'll keep breaking in.

Fortunately I have a 15 minute commute, but this is annoying.

This used to happen all the time with my iPhone 3 and a totally different radio - but not from day one, after an OS update.

Then with my iPhone 4S after I'd updated the OS once or twice it started again.

Thing is, I don't WANT iTunes to do ANYTHING when I plug in the phone.

I really think this is a programming problem, some simple line of code that keeps sneaking into the OS, like the programmer thinks he/she is doing us a favor.

Thanks.
