I have an old Emac g4 with a dead hard drive and I wish to know if I can put a clone of my Imac g3's drive in it. I understand that you can switch hdds around in windows computers but will this work with macs?

Yes, if the OS on it is newer than that eMac model. Some commercial software may refuse to run, and a very small number of preferences, such as the Energy Saver settings, won't carry over.

Thanks for your help! I just finished the cloning process and my mac is running like new again ( considering it is an old machine).
Can I make a clone of my Imac g3 hdd and use it in my emac g4?
